Weeks 7-14--7-20 thru 8-4--8-10-12 - FIRE

Week 7-14--7-20-12 - Butte, MT and Billings BLM District, MT:

 Original Stage at the Montana Folk Festival


 A fire helicopter dips into the Bighorn Canyon on the MT-WY border before returning to a fire 80 miles away in WY

 Fire on hay fields when a farmer's equipment sparked a blaze


 Looking for smokes after dry lightening

 This wild horse was orphaned at a young age - her scars are the result of the many fights she got in with every failed attempt to join a new band of wild horses. She was found alone, starving, and transported to the adopt-a-wild-horse headquarters in southern MT.

Week 8-4--8-10-12 - Butte, MT:
 An old grave in the woods

 The Corral fire, a month later, heavy runoff causes soil erosion and washouts

 Great Divide ski hill - bug-killed lodgepole pines harvested and stacked for controlled burns, with heavy smoke in the mountains beyond

 Butte at 3pm, socked in heavily with smoke from Idaho fires hundreds of miles away


 A dead cow killed by a lightening strike in the Bug Hole valley
