Week 11-16--22-13 - New Castle, CO:

View from the Colorow Trail north of New Castle

 Trail through town

Galleries of Emerald Ash Borers - an invasive pest that's been ravaging ash trees in the East and Midwest, which unfortunately, despite aggressive quarantine management practices, just made it across the Plains to Boulder, CO this Fall. As an arborist, I'm dreading the inevitability of EAB hopping the Rockies and decimating our ash populations in western CO, since Fraxinus is one of the few genera of deciduous trees that can survive in the Intermountain West.
